A few days ago, Faithfully Progressive noted an interesting correlation between a couple of different news events.
“US Infrastructure Crumbling Amid Wasteful Spending in Iraq”
Its an interesting observation. There is no definitive or conclusive link, of course. We cannot honestly say that the money being spent on the occupation would have been used to maintain infrastructure (with a Republican congress, it may well have been refunded in further tax cuts instead…). But it is hardly a stretch to recognize that the money and priority wasn’t there because of the occupation.

There is no definitive or conclusive link, just like there is no definitive or conclusive link from our National Guard Troops being deployed to Iraq and the lack of reaction from said troops when disasters have happened.
Bush will just try to cut more taxes, that’ll fix it, right? 🙂
